Recovering & Displaying

High Dynamic Range Radiance Maps

Photo Creadit: Trey Ratcliff

Project Overview

In my project, I set out to recover the HDR (high dynamic range) radiance map from a set of photographs of the same scene with varying shutter speeds, as each photograph will cover a portion of the overall dynamic range that I’m interested in recovering.  I first implemented the scheme proposed by Debevec & Malik 97 in their paper titled Recovering High Dynamic Range Radiance Maps from Photographs. I then set out to make modifications and improvements to it.

On this website, I aim to give you an overview of the topic, what I've done, and showcase my results.
